July Consignment Update

I can't believe it's JULY! 

At the shop, we are entering the summer consignment slump, our consignors are out on adventures using their gear, but we still have tons of customers looking for gear for their own trips! It's a great time to consign your unused gear and get it to a new owner.

Hot Sellers:

We can't seem to keep sleeping pads and headlamps in stock. Customers are always looking for rain jackets and rain pants. We have a lot of customers coming in looking for large backpacking packs and smaller day packs. 

Check your gear:

Be sure to check your gear before your trip, like your are checking it for consignment. Here are the top 3 gear issues we find at Janky Gear:

• Rain fly/Rain Jacket deterioration of water proofing and seams. Often the waterproofing on tent rain flies will become tacky and will have a foul odor. Be sure to store your tent in a cool dry area, not the garage.
• Zipper issues and packs, tents, and clothing. Zippers are a hassle to replace but are essential on a lot of gear.
• Broken buckles on packs. These are easily replaced. Order a stash of buckles and put them in your sewing kit.
