Position Title: Part-Time Sales/Inventory Associate

Job Description: Are you passionate about the outdoors and interested in joining the Janky Team? Janky Gear is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Part-Time Sales/Inventory Associate. In this position, you will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service, managing inventory, maintaining a welcoming store environment for outdoor enthusiasts, and contributing to our online sales and social media presence. This part-time role offers 10-25 hours per week, with the potential for more.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products, answering inquiries, and providing knowledgeable assistance regarding outdoor gear.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system, ensuring a seamless checkout experience for customers.

Inventory Management:

  • Receive incoming consignment items, inspect them for quality and condition, and label and price items according to store guidelines.
  • Organize and maintain inventory displays to ensure items are easily accessible and visually appealing for customers.
  • Manage online product listings and ensure accurate stock levels across sales platforms.

Store Maintenance:

  • Keep the store clean, organized, and clutter-free throughout shifts, contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers.
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting as needed to maintain a safe and inviting store environment.

Online Sales & Social Media Management:

  • Assist with managing Janky Gear’s social media accounts, creating engaging content to drive store traffic and sales.
  • Oversee online sales platforms (Shopify, Poshmark, eBay) by updating product listings, responding to inquiries, and processing online orders.
  • Use database and point-of-sale systems to track inventory and sales trends, assisting with data-driven decision-making for the business.

Team Support:

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding inventory needs, online sales, and customer feedback.
  • Assist in training new team members as needed, sharing your knowledge and expertise to support their success in the role.

Qualifications:

  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Passion for outdoor activities and knowledge of outdoor gear and equipment. Bonus points for ski/snowboard knowledge
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Experience with social media management, including content creation and engagement strategies.
  • Familiarity with online sales platforms (Shopify, Poshmark, eBay) appreciated
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have availability during the day on weekdays.
