We accept a wide range of winter gear, including snowboards, skis, snowshoes, winter clothing, boots, and much more.

Why Choose Winter Consignment?

  1. Stay Ahead of the Snow: One of the biggest advantages of our winter consignment program is the timing. By getting your winter gear ready early, you can ensure that you're well-prepared for the first snowfall. Don't wait until the last minute to search for the perfect gear when you can find it right here at Janky Gear.

  2. Eco-Friendly: Consignment is not only a great way to save money but also an environmentally conscious choice. By buying and selling used winter gear, you're reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Plus, you can feel good about giving your gear a second life.

  3. Affordability: Winter gear can be expensive when bought new. Through our consignment program, you can access high-quality gear at a fraction of the cost. This means you can enjoy your favorite winter activities without breaking the bank. Get a 5% discount when you use your consignment earnings at Janky Gear.

Preparing Your Gear

To ensure a smooth consignment process and help your gear find a new home quickly, here are some important tips:

  • Check for Wear and Tear: Inspect your gear for any signs of damage or wear. Make sure it's in good working order and ready for another season of adventures.
  • Clean It Up: Nobody wants gear covered in dog hair or strange odors. Give your gear a thorough cleaning, whether it's a snowboard, jacket, or pair of boots. A clean and well-maintained item is more likely to sell.
  • Provide Detailed Information: When you submit your gear, be sure to provide as much information as possible. Include brand, size, age, and any special features or modifications. Accurate descriptions help buyers make informed decisions. We ask those who consign skis and snowboards to fill out a form and certify that their skis are 7 years or newer.

As winter approaches, make sure you're ready for the snow by participating in Janky Gear's winter consignment program. Whether you're buying or selling, our consignment program offers benefits for everyone. By starting early, you can secure the gear you need and ensure a successful winter season filled with outdoor adventures.

Don't wait until the snow flies – bring your winter gear to Janky Gear starting October 1st and be part of the winter wonderland that awaits you! Get ready to stay warm, have fun, and enjoy the magic of winter with Janky Gear.

What we will NOT accept on consignment:

We do not accept downhill skis older than 7 years. Each year ski manufacturers create a list of bindings that they will "indemnify." This is a list that manufactures will warranty and support. Manufacturers are not held liable for bindings that are no longer indemnified. Therefore, certified ski technicians will not work on any skis that are not indemnified. For this reason, Janky Gear will not accept skis over 5 years old. Read more on "Indemnified bindings" at Durangooutdoorgearexchange.com. We will have a form for you to fill out to verify that the skis are 7 years and newer.

Ski boots are also risky to ski on if they are older than 7 years due to the deterioration of plastic and hardware.

There seem to be a lot of old  3-pin cross-country skis/boots floating around Southeastern MN. We do not accept this 3-pin style because the boots do not hold up. Rubber and leather start to deteriorate and become a safety hazard for skiers.

At Janky Gear, we do not accept any used helmets. Ski/Snowboard helmets that have been worn can be damaged without showing any signs  on the shell. Helmets also have a shelf life and you should replace your helmet based on the manufacturer recommendation.

Here are a few other items we are not accepting: car racks, running shoes, swimwear, PFDs, men's button up shirts, women's thin fleece sweatshirts and bike trainers.
